Keeping your new sleep set in good condition is easy

You've spent considerable time & money buying a new mattress - so you we know you'll want to protect your investment. If it was a Sealy product, thank-you! In order for you to protect your investment, there are a number of things you need to do once you have your mattress delivered.

Use a mattress pad

While a mattress protector is not a mandatory requirement of our warranty policy, stains causing an unsanitary condition is & will void the warranty regardless of the manufacturing defect. Accidents happen, that is part of life. We highly recommend that you purchase a good quality mattress protector and use it. It will protect against fluid & blood stains which will cause the premature breakdown of our StayTrue comfort layers.

Additionally, the average person perspires 1/2 a pint of fluid each night. A water resistant mattress pad will ensure that the sweat does not cause the premature breakdown of the comfort layers.

Ensure there is proper bed frame support

If you want to ensure the long-term durability of the sleep set, you must use an appropriate frame. We highly recommend buying the most expensive bed frame you can afford. It must have center support and correctly support all parts of the box spring. Improper support causes irreparable damage, noise and even can cause discomfort to the sleeper. Having an improper bed frame will cause the mattress & box spring void.

Understanding body impressions versus sagging

Body indentations are a normal occurrence to your new mattress and indicate that the upholstery layers are conforming to your body’s individual contours.

Think of a new pair of shoes. It takes some time to have them become more comfortable. Mattresses are the same. It takes a little time for the comfort materials to break-in and become more comfortable. Body impressions are an indication that the mattress is conforming to your body. Rotate you mattress every 3 months as described in the warranty card.

Give your new mattress time to breathe

Do give your new sleep set time to "air" upon removal from its plastic packaging. Ensure you recycle the mattresses plastic packaging promptly as this can be a hazard to small children. New mattresses may have a "new bed smell" that may take a little time to dissipate.

Do not let the kids jump up & down on the mattress

We've been manufacturing & delivering mattresses since 1881 - & since then people have always wanted to jump up & down on their mattresses. Unfortunately, mattresses are not trampolines. By jumping up and down on a mattress you will cause irreparable damage to the mattress innerspring, comfort layers & boxspring. Even a 30kg child can cause internal damage to a sleep system that you may not see, but your body will feel through the night. Internal damage caused by abuse is not covered by the warranty.
