Orthopedic Advisory Board

Orthopedically correct design

In 2006 Sealy formed the Orthopedic Advisory Board, to continue to build on Sealy's rich orthopedic heritage. It focuses on developments & innovations that help contribute to consumers' orthopedic health and provide more restful & recuperative sleep.

Building on our heritage

The Orthopedic Advisory Board collaborates with Sealy's leaders in Research & Technology Innovation to help Sealy:

  • Develop advancements that offer 'orthopedically correct' support and contribute to overall orthopaedic health.
  • Understand the nature of sleep & sleep problems, and design products that meet consumers evolving needs.
  • Direct and oversee academic sleep studies and research.

The Orthopedic Advisory Board developed the concept, and defined the measures & criteria for Orthopedically Correct Design. To eliminate tossing & turning from uncomfortable pressure points, you need the perfect balance of proper back support & targeted pressure relief.

The OAB offers an expert's perspective on the relationship between sleep and the sleep surface. This has resulted in new product designs and product develpments to better meet the evolving needs of consumers.
